Reflecting on results and next steps - Final meeting of the GESP project

27.03.2025.

The GESP project officially concludes in April 2025, but the partnerships, resources, and shared commitment to gender equality in sport will continue to shape local and European efforts in the years ahead.

The final transnational meeting of the Erasmus+ project Re-imagining the Playing Field – A Gender Equality in Sport Project (GESP) took place in Skopje on March 22, 2025. Hosted by partner organization PEL, the meeting brought together representatives of all partner organizations to evaluate the overall implementation, reflect on the achievements, and discuss follow-up actions.

As the coordinating organization, Knowledge Infusion facilitated the discussion around project outcomes, including the development of the Breaking Barriers: Women in Sport” podcast series, two practical publications – a guide for athletes and coaches and a toolkit for sports organizations – as well as a series of workshops held across partner countries.

During the meeting, partners reviewed the project’s strategic approach, from capacity-building actions and local outreach to the public awareness campaign #LevelThePlayingField.

Participants shared their feedback on the usefulness of project deliverables and their potential for further implementation in local and national contexts. Knowledge Infusion presented the lessons learned in project management and emphasized the importance of ensuring sustainability beyond the project’s lifetime. The discussion also focused on how to maintain the network of partners and promote gender-sensitive practices in sport going forward.
